Peloton is an automated vehicle technology company hard at work solving the two biggest challenges facing the $700 billion trucking industry:

Crashes and Fuel Use.

It Starts With Safety

We make each individual truck safer with the use of best-in-class collision mitigation systems. Always-on radar sensors detect stopped or slowed vehicles far down the road to alert the driver and apply brakes when needed.

Safer Together

Trucks are connected using direct Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) communications. This allows the rear truck to react immediately to the actions of the front truck. By electronically coupling the trucks in this way, they accelerate and brake together and can safely operate at closer distances to form a platoon.

Fuel Savings

The Peloton System has proven savings of more than 7% when platooning using industry standard tests: 4.5% for the lead truck, and 10% for the following truck.

Network Operations Cloud

Platooning only occurs when it’s safe, where it’s safe, and how it’s safe. Peloton’s cloud-based Network Operations Cloud (NOC) approves each platoon. It adjusts platooning parameters to be safe for conditions. Each driver is empowered with over-the-horizon alerts at all times.

Intelligent Pairing

The NOC maximizes platooning opportunities by notifying drivers of potential pairings based on their location and anticipated route. The NOC can find platooning partners for drivers en route or platooning can be planned ahead of time.

Teamwork

Drivers choose when to platoon and always retain primary control of their own trucks. They work together to save fuel and manage the changing environment.
