Washington, DC – Peloton Co-Founder and VP External Affairs Steve Boyd will speak at Convergence, a technology and transportation conference hosted by the Eno Center for Transportation on March 24, 2016.
Convergence aims to bring together the policy-makers, entrepreneurs, C-level executives, solution providers and business thought-leaders that are transforming the landscape of the transportation industry. These stakeholders will discuss the critical issues affecting technology enabled transit, the shared economy, health care delivery, and traveler information, among other key topics.
Mr. Boyd will speak on the “Using Technology to Optimize Freight Shipment” panel, moderated by Brookings Fellow for Metropolitan Policy Adie Tomer.
“Truck platooning can fundamentally shift the safety and economics of freight trucking, which moves some two-thirds of all freight tonnage in the U.S.,” says Boyd. “By making each individual truck safer at all times, and providing more than 7% fuel savings across two trucks in platoon, Peloton’s truck platooning system is a great example of how we can leverage technology to improve an economically critical sector.”
